Local Governance
The local government of the Archipelago know as the Southern Gulf Islands of British Columbia is the Islands Trust. This is a unique type of government, insofar as it was imposed by the Government of British Columbia, as contracted to normal generis of local governments intitiated by and consented to by the people to be governed.
Proximity, size and, yes, the genesis of the Trust make it a good model for the study of Local Governance.
